Kennedy Agyapong’s alleged US properties and how they could factor into the $18M judgment

Public records reveal Kennedy Agyapong owns at least three New Jersey properties worth over $1.8M, providing tangible assets that could be leveraged to satisfy part of Anas’s $18M defamation judgment.

Following the recent $18 million defamation judgment awarded to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas against Kennedy Agyapong in New Jersey, public records reveal that the Ghanaian businessman and former MP allegedly owns at least three properties in the United States, with a combined purchase value exceeding $1.8 million.

3News has obtained a property search report that focuses on properties identified in Essex County, New Jersey, where the judgment was passed, though Agyapong may own additional real estate elsewhere in the US.

According to property records obtained from Essex County, New Jersey, Agyapong owns three significant properties:

  • These New Jersey properties have taken on particular significance in light of the landmark $18 million defamation judgment recently awarded to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas against Agyapong.
  • The court ruling, which includes $5 million in presumed damages, $5 million in actual damages, and $8 million in punitive damages, raises immediate questions about enforcement.

These New Jersey properties have taken on particular significance in light of the landmark $18 million defamation judgment recently awarded to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas against Agyapong.

The court ruling, which includes $5 million in presumed damages, $5 million in actual damages, and $8 million in punitive damages, raises immediate questions about enforcement.

.These identified properties provide tangible assets within U.S. jurisdiction that could potentially be used to satisfy at least part of the judgment. Anas’s legal team could potentially place liens on these properties or initiate foreclosure proceedings should Agyapong fail to satisfy the court’s award voluntarily.

The identification of these specific assets within the jurisdiction where the judgment was rendered significantly improves Anas’s potential for recovery, though the total value of these properties represents only a fraction of the total judgment.
